#10: Pictured here is the Kitsap, purchased in 1947 by Stephen "Steve" Wyatt. This photo was taken in 1952. Wyatt originally caught dogfish (Sand sharks) which were sold for their livers (High vitamin A content). Beginning in 1949, he took the Kitsap shrimping & he sold her in 1953. Wyatt's grandparents, Robert Sr. & Ellen Wyatt (& their children) were the first family to settle in Holly. Steve was born & raised in Holly & spent most of his adult life here as well. He generously contributed his time to this project & provided much information about Holly's history. Steve's wife Frieda, was Albert Pfundt's (Another Holly pioneer) step-daughter. Frieda provided a wide variety of old photos & donated many hours to this project, recalling people & events from Holly's past, sometimes referring to her rich resource of materials, such as old newspapers & school annuals. Frieda also referred me to other sources of help. Without her assistance, this project would surely not have been successful. Photograph donated by Frieda Wyatt.
